Personally visit all of the shelters in the area to see if your pet is there and complete a Lost Animal Report. Most shelters will ask the owners to come in and look for their pets personally simply because what you describe as your pet, may not be the shelters idea of what your pet looks like.
If your pet is microchipped, remember to notify the microchip company immediately.
Check your neighborhood, veterinary hospitals and facebook for ‘found’ flyers, and post ‘lost’ flyers with a reward if possible, at the same places. Including a reward will encourage anyone who has found your pet to return him/her.
If your pet is found and did not have a microchip, consider making the small investment of getting them chipped.
With your help, it makes it possible to rescue pets.
